About Himalaya
After a decade in capital allocation, Himalaya works with family offices, foundations, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on capital deployment strategy and custom structures that mobilize capital for maximum impact. She is passionate about building systems that decentralize power and capital to place-based communities.
Himalaya is Managing Director of The BFM Fund, a direct investing fund focused on the decentralization of wealth across the socioeconomic spectrum. Before becoming a GP, she earned an MBA, trained in Venture Finance, and worked in six firms as an Associate, Deal Lead, and eventually Fund Manager.
She is also Executive Director of Venture Partners, a non-profit that trains people at the intersection of culture and class. Venture Partners teaches individuals and institutions about Impact Investing, Solidarity Economy, Restorative Finance, and Macroeconomic Theory. It also runs Rotational Training Programs, Financial Entrepreneurship Residencies, college and university Impact Investing courses, and Executive Education for family offices, foundations, and financial professionals.
Before business and innovation, Himalaya earned a Master of Social Work with training in group and individual therapy. Today she works with accelerator programs across the country to reduce founder burnout and navigate co-founder relationships, and she has developed a style of Targeted Networking that she uses at conferences and business retreats across the United States, with recent expansion to the EU and India.
